"Liberty" the Budgie

From: Cherie Fllinn <cheriecharlie@verizon.net>

Subject: That Cute Little English Budgie I Bought From You

Hi Kathleen:  Just wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying the English Budgie I bought from you on July 31, 2008.  I will forward a picture of him for you.

He's quite a talker and I thought you'd like to know all the words he says.  He talks very plainly and talks all the time (even when he's sleeping).  Here are the words and sentences he says:  "What a cute birdie;  what a sweet boy;  come-on gimme kisses;  Charlie Baby;   Cherie Baby;   Gimme Gimme Kisses;   whoops-a-daisey;  here kity, kity, kity, what-cha doin pretty baby?; Praise the Lord, Jesus is coming!;  praise the birdie;   bless the birdie, and  I luv luv luv you.

When my son, who is a Police Officer, came to visit us, he started teaching him "Get Your Hands Up, Buster" - the bird now says that sentence with authority!  I taught him to do a somersault around his perch, so before I let him out of the cage, I ask him:  "Do you want to come out?  Then do a somersault! . . . and he does.  Just today he said:  "Do a somersault!"

Thank you for all the love and care I know you give all your birds - like waking up to feed them through the night like you do when they are babies.    This bird of ours is such a little buddy of my husband and I.  I often think of the way you raised him and that's why
he is so smart and special.  Thank you again, Kathleen, I just thought you'd like to know how happy he is (and us too).  In fact I have him on my shoulder right now, and he's talking so much I can't even think!

He was tourquoise and grey  when he was a baby, now he is very bright tourqoise and the grey and been replaced by a light blue - he's beautiful!

Wish I could buy all your birdie's,  Luv, Cherie
Hi Kathleen - Here's a picture of Liberty - he's a cute little guy isn't he?  Luv, Cherie Flinn

ROCK PEBBLER BABIES - Featured in July Issue of BIRDTALK MAGAZINE

Regent Parrot ~ Rock Pebbler

The Regent Parakeet or Regent Parrot is known as the very best flier of all the Australian Parakeets. Needless to say, they are very lively and active little birds!   This Australian parakeet has wonderful colors and is a beauty to look at. It is also a very fine companion. The Regent Parakeet quickly becomes trusting and agreeable and is easily tamed. It is a relatively quiet bird and when it does speak, it has a pleasant voice.

"Sid (a pet Rock Pebbler), can mimic a few words for example 'what you doing', 'hello sid', 'naughty boy', 'stupid' and also mimics telephone ring tones and he also whistles back to when you whistle. Sid loves human contact and company, follows you around the house, ...and enjoys eating fudge as a treat! Sid is a great pet to have!!".

Not only is the Regent Parakeet a very skillful flyer, it is an active bird and will love to play, climb, chew, and very possibly follow you around the house like 'Sid' does! This bird is also very hardy, very resistant to disease, and is not difficult to feed and care for.

Kathiewrote:
Just wanted to let you know that "Leilani" did well on her first night in her new home.  She was a little excited to ride in the car but then collapsed on my lap for a nap right away when we got home. She ate well for both feedings.

This morning she was anxious to eat, but only would finish about half for her breakfast. That's ok, I figure she will make up for it later!
She has already demonstrated her flying ability, and she can gain some altitude! Mostly, though, she is inclined to snuggle up with Shannon or me in a towel. She is so sweet.
Just wanted to to know your baby is doing great!

Hi, Kathleen,

What a precocious little boy!!  Eats like a horse, loves his toys, makes good use of his cage, but best of all. . .goes flat on his back in the palm of my hand for a head rub--it doesn't get any better than this!!  Thank you for making him possible and allowing him into our lives.

Best,

toni

Kathleen,

We just wanted to give you an update on Tiki.  She seems to be adjusting well to our home.  Yesterday she showed me how loveable a bird can actually be.  I sat on the sofa with her and she climed on my chest put her beak on my cheek rolled on her side and fell asleep.  I told Dan that I can't get over how loveable and personable she is.  I purchased a scale yesterday just so we can make sure she does well weight wise and she is maintaining at 3.65 oz. (yesterday afternoon and 3.6 this morning before she was fed) She guzzles down her "baby" feedings then likes to eat some veggies and cheerios.  I made veggie corn bread this afternoon and will have Meghan give her some when she is home from school.  We will start sending some pictures to you soon and will give you updates on her progress.  One question the kids keep asking me, when she is sitting with you and bobs her head up and down, does that have a specific meaning?  We take it as her being content but thought we would ask.  Meghan does her homework with Tiki and even read Tiki a good night story last night.

Again, thank you so much for allowing us to visit and purchase Tiki from you.  Meghan is extremely happy.
