Just wanted to let you know that "Leilani" did well on her first night in her new home. She was a little excited to ride in the car but then collapsed on my lap for a nap right away when we got home. She ate well for both feedings.
This morning she was anxious to eat, but only would finish about half for her breakfast. That's ok, I figure she will make up for it later! She has already demonstrated her flying ability, and she can gain some altitude! Mostly, though, she is inclined to snuggle up with Shannon or me in a towel. She is so sweet. Just wanted to to know your baby is doing great!
What a precocious little boy!! Eats like a
horse, loves his toys, makes good use of his cage, but best of all. .
.goes flat on his back in the palm of my hand for a head rub--it
doesn't get any better than this!! Thank you for making him possible
and allowing him into our lives.
We just wanted to give you an update on Tiki. She seems to be adjusting well to our home. Yesterday she showed me how loveable a bird can actually be. I sat on the sofa with her and she climed on my chest put her beak on my cheek rolled on her side and fell asleep. I told Dan that I can't get over how loveable and personable she is. I purchased a scale yesterday just so we can make sure she does well weight wise and she is maintaining at 3.65 oz. (yesterday afternoon and 3.6 this morning before she was fed) She guzzles down her "baby" feedings then likes to eat some veggies and cheerios. I made veggie corn bread this afternoon and will have Meghan give her some when she is home from school. We will start sending some pictures to you soon and will give you updates on her progress. One question the kids keep asking me, when she is sitting with you and bobs her head up and down, does that have a specific meaning? We take it as her being content but thought we would ask. Meghan does her homework with Tiki and even read Tiki a good night story last night.
Again, thank you so much for allowing us to visit and purchase Tiki from you. Meghan is extremely happy.
